Guardrail work to close I-270 lanes this weekend

PONTOON BEACH – The Illinois Department of Transportation today announced that one lane in each direction of Interstate 270 between Illinois 203 and Illinois 111 in Madison County will close this weekend for guardrail installation.

The closure will begin at 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, and all lanes are expected to reopen by 5 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 16.

Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes during this lane closure. Drivers are urged to reduce speed, be alert for changing conditions, obey all construction signage, and refrain from using mobile devices while approaching and traveling through the work zone.

Westbound 95th Street lane closure
CHICAGO – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that as part of ongoing efforts to rehabilitate the bridges carrying Harlem Avenue (Illinois 43) over 95th Street (U.S. 12 and 20), in Bridgeview, Chicago Ridge and Oak Lawn, a lane closure is scheduled to take place on westbound 95th Street beginning, weather permitting, Tuesday, May 26. The closure is necessary to safely install large sewer/drainage pipes.
