I-474 lane closures begin Dec. 8

CREVE COEUR – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that lane and shoulder closures on Interstate 474 between the Main Street/Illinois 29 interchange (exit 9) and Cole Street in Creve Coeur begin Dec. 8, weather permitting.

The closures are necessary for survey work and soil samples in the area for a future bridge project and will take place 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day through Dec. 19.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
