I-57/74 ramp closure begins Oct. 6
CHAMPAIGN – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that as part of ongoing work at the Interstate 57/74 interchange in Champaign, the ramp from eastbound I-74 to southbound I-57 will close the evening of Oct. 6.
The ramp closure is necessary to complete permanent erosion control measures and will last approximately two weeks. A detour will be posted.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
