I-74 lane closures for pavement patching start Sept. 3

Additionally, temporary full ramp closures

CHAMPAIGN – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that single lane closures in both directions of Interstate 74 from the Piatt County line to Duncan Road start Sept. 3 in Champaign County.

The lane closures are expected to last for up to two weeks. Additionally, full ramp closures will occur at the westbound off-ramp and then eastbound on-ramp at Prairieview Road (72-hour closure), then the eastbound on-ramp at Illinois 47 (12-hour closure). All closures are necessary for pavement patching.

Over the next six years, IDOT is planning to improve more than 3,200 miles of highway and nearly 9 million square feet of bridge deck as part of Rebuild Illinois, which is investing $33.2 billion into all modes of transportation. Accomplishments through Year Six of Rebuild Illinois include almost $20.8 billion of improvements statewide on 7,897 miles of highway, 815 bridges and 1,181 additional safety improvements.
