I-80 West Frontage/South Ingolsby Road to close Feb. 3
CHICAGO – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that as part of ongoing efforts to rebuild Interstate 80 in Minooka, Joliet and New Lenox, a culvert replacement project on I-80 West Frontage/South Ingolsby Road is scheduled to begin, weather permitting, Monday, Feb. 3.
The work, which involves constructing two new box culverts, will require closing I-80 West Frontage/South Ingolsby Road between Shepley and Mound roads. A detour will direct motorists to Shepley, County Line, Mound and River roads. Access to residences will be maintained throughout construction, anticipated to be completed in early summer.
As the overall I-80 reconstruction continues, the public should continue to expect lane shifts, overnight lane closures and significant delays and to allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
