Illinois 116 public hearing set March 26
Proposed improvements target three intersections to improve safety, traffic flow and operations
EAST PEORIA/GERMANTOWN HILLS – The Illinois Department of Transportation will hold a public hearing March 26 to seek public comment regarding proposed improvements to three intersections along Illinois 116 between East Peoria and Germantown Hills. The hearing will be held:
4-6 p.m. March 26
Washington Township Road Department, David Weaver Building
553 Spring Creek Road, Washington
The project is being proposed to address safety and operational concerns at the intersections of Illinois 116 with Illinois 26, West Spring Creek Road and Spring Creek Road.
The open house will include project displays and other information. IDOT representatives will be in attendance to explain project details, answer questions and record public comments from attendees, but there will be no formal presentation. The public is invited to stop by at any time during the open house to view displays, ask questions and provide comments. For more information, contact:

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
