Illinois 6 lane closure in Peoria set March 9

PEORIA – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that southbound Illinois 6 will be reduced to one lane at War Memorial Drive (U.S. 150) in Peoria on March 9.

The lane reduction is necessary to install a sign and will take place from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. All ramps will remain open during the work.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
