Illinois 6 ramp closures in Peoria continue
PEORIA – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced the following additional ramp closures on Illinois 6 in Peoria beginning the morning of Oct. 22:
- Westbound Interstate 74 to southbound Illinois 6 for one week.
- Southbound Illinois 6 to westbound I-74 for one week.
- Westbound War Memorial Drive (U.S. 150) to southbound Illinois 6. This ramp will be closed Oct. 22-23, reopen for the weekend and close again Oct. 26-27.
The closures are necessary for ongoing resurfacing.

Over the next six years, IDOT is planning to improve 7,107 lane miles of highway and 8.4 million square feet of bridge deck as part of Rebuild Illinois, which is investing $33.2 billion into all modes of transportation. Accomplishments through Year Seven of Rebuild Illinois include $25.6 billion of improvements statewide to 24,498 lane miles of highway, 959 bridges and 1,475 additional safety improvements.
