Nightly lane closures on I-64 in St. Clair County

NEW BADEN – The Illinois Department of Transportation today announced that one lane in each direction of Interstate 64 will be closed between Illinois 4 and the Clinton County line near New Baden beginning Thursday, Sept. 24, for roadway maintenance.

The nightly lane closures will occur from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. and are expected to continue through late fall 2026, weather permitting. ​

Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes during this closure. Drivers are urged to reduce speed, be alert for changing conditions, obey all construction signage, and refrain from using mobile devices while approaching and traveling through the work zone.
