CHICAGO – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that the outbound Kennedy Expressway (Interstate 90/94) ramp to Ohio Street is scheduled to close for approximately one week starting at, weather permitting, 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27.

The closure is necessary to accommodate ongoing painting and LED light installation at Hubbard’s Cave, taking place simultaneously with Kennedy rehabilitation project. During that time, a posted detour will direct motorists to Milwaukee Avenue/ Augusta Boulevard to access Ohio Street.

The public can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
