Overnight closure of I-74 at Woodhull set for Oct. 5
WOODHULL – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that westbound Interstate 74 at the Woodhull/Illinois 17 interchange (exit 32) will close overnight Oct. 5.
The closure is necessary to install bridge beams and will begin at 10 p.m. A detour will be posted, and Illinois 17 traffic under I-74 will be controlled by flaggers. The interstate is expected to reopen by 6 a.m. Oct. 6.

Over the next six years, IDOT is planning to improve 7,107 lane miles of highway and 8.4 million square feet of bridge deck as part of Rebuild Illinois, which is investing $33.2 billion into all modes of transportation. Accomplishments through Year Seven of Rebuild Illinois include $25.6 billion of improvements statewide to 24,498 lane miles of highway, 959 bridges and 1,475 additional safety improvements.
