Overnight closure planned on I-64 Wabash River Bridge near Grayville in White County

GRAYVILLE – The Illinois Department of Transportation today announced that all lanes of Interstate 64 over the Wabash River near the Illinois-Indiana state line will close overnight Tuesday, May 26, and Wednesday, May 27, for emergency bridge repairs.

Closures are scheduled nightly from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., weather permitting. The work is expected to take two nights to complete.

Posted detours will direct eastbound traffic via exit 130 and Illinois 1, and westbound traffic via exit 18 and Indiana 65.

In the event of inclement weather, repairs will be rescheduled for the nights of May 27 and May 28.

Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes during this closure. Drivers are urged to reduce speed, be alert for changing conditions, obey all construction signage, and refrain from using mobile devices while approaching and traveling through the work zone.
