Patching on Interstate 70 in Clark County begins April 7
EFFINGHAM – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that a 9½-mile pavement patching project on Interstate 70 from 1 mile west of the Marshall interchange to the Indiana state line will begin Monday, April 7.
One lane of traffic will remain open in both directions of I-70 with barrels, message boards and arrow boards directing traffic. The ramps at the Marshall interchange will remain open. This $500,000 project is expected to be completed in early May.
Motorists are encouraged to follow the traffic control devices and should allow for extra travel time. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
Over the next six years, IDOT is planning to improve more than 3,200 miles of highway and nearly 9 million square feet of bridge deck as part of Rebuild Illinois, which is investing $33.2 billion into all modes of transportation.
