Public comment sought on proposed Illinois 3/150 improvements in Randolph County

CHESTER – The Illinois Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting to discuss a study for proposed improvements along Illinois 3/150 in Randolph County. The meeting will be held:

Wednesday, Oct. 14

IDOT, in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration, has initiated a preliminary engineering and environmental study of Illinois 3/150, extending from Illinois 150 in the city of Chester southward along Illinois 3 to south of Water Street.

The Phase 1 study will look at options to replace the pavement, along with potential intersection and drainage improvements, as well as bicycle and pedestrian needs throughout the study area. The purpose of the meeting is to introduce the project, share information about the need for improvements and present proposed typical sections.

Handouts and display boards will be available for public review, along with information on engineering, land acquisition and environmental processes. Representatives from IDOT and the project team will be available to discuss the project and answer questions. The meeting will be held in an open house format. No formal presentation will be made. Meeting materials also will be available on the project website for review and comment.

The public is invited to submit comments for consideration during the project development. A comment form will be provided at the meeting and on the project website.
