Public comment sought on proposed Relocated Illinois 3 improvements in St. Clair County
ST. CLAIR COUNTY – The Illinois Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting to discuss a study for the proposed improvements to approximately two miles of the Relocated Illinois 3 corridor in East St. Louis and Sauget. The meeting will be held:

IDOT, in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration, has initiated the preliminary engineering and environmental study of Relocated Illinois 3. This section of Illinois 3 is located in the city of East St. Louis and the Village of Sauget in St. Clair County. The Phase 1 study will reevaluate options to address traffic safety and mobility throughout the study area.
The purpose of the meeting is to reintroduce the project and obtain public input. Handouts and display boards will be available for public review, along with information on engineering and environmental processes. Representatives from IDOT and the project consultant, H.W. Lochner, will be available to discuss the project and answer questions.
The meeting will be held in an open house format. A video presentation and exhibits will be available at the meeting and will also be available on the project website for review and comment.
The public is invited to submit comments for consideration during project development. A comment form will be provided at the meeting and on the project website at bit.ly/RelocatedIL3. All comments received by Dec. 3 will be included in the official public meeting record.
