Public invited to provide input on improvements to Illinois 173 and Caledonia Road on Oct. 29
CALEDONIA – The Illinois Department of Transportation will host a public meeting for proposed improvements to the intersection of Illinois 173 and Caledonia Road in Caledonia on Wednesday, Oct. 29. The event will be from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Caledonia Congregational Church, 14730 Oak St., Caledonia.
This meeting will be held in an open house format with no formal presentation. The public is invited to attend at any time during the hours listed to view informational displays, speak with project representatives, ask questions and share feedback.
IDOT is currently conducting a Phase I preliminary engineering and environmental study for the conversion of this intersection into a roundabout. Other improvements include reconstruction of the drainage ditches and culverts.

Over the next six years, IDOT is planning to improve more than 3,200 miles of highway and nearly 9 million square feet of bridge deck as part of Rebuild Illinois, which is investing $33.2 billion into all modes of transportation. Accomplishments through Year Six of Rebuild Illinois include almost $20.8 billion of improvements statewide on 7,897 miles of highway, 815 bridges and 1,181 additional safety improvements.
