Repairs at the U.S. 45 railroad crossing in Neoga to take place Sept. 25

EFFINGHAM – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that repairs to the railroad crossing on U.S. 45 in Neoga is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 25. Work will begin at 7 a.m. and should take about five hours.

Repairs will be conducted by Canadian National Railway. Traffic will be reduced to one lane, with flaggers helping with traffic control.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
