U.S. 136 in Danville to close Nov. 11

DANVILLE – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that Main Street (U.S. 136) between Gilbert Street and Bowman Avenue in Danville will close Nov. 11.

The closure is necessary for the Norfolk Southern Railway to repair its crossing and is expected to last two to three days. A detour will be posted.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
