U.S. 34 work in La Salle County begins May 1
LA SALLE COUNTY – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that weather permitting, work on U.S. 34 in La Salle County will begin Friday, May 1. The 7-mile work zone is from Interstate 39 east of Mendota to East 12th Road in Earlville.
Work will patch, mill and resurface the road. There will be daily lane closures controlled by flaggers during the $3.6 million project, which is anticipated to be complete in mid-July.
Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zone areas, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
