Vehicle weight restrictions start Feb. 3 in Henry County

GRANITE CITY – The Illinois Department of Transportation today announced lane closures on eastbound and westbound Interstate 270 from Illinois 3 to the Mississippi River in Madison County for road construction. Beginning at 9 p.m. Friday, June 5, traffic will be reduced to the right lane in both directions, weather permitting. Two lanes will reopen to traffic by 6 a.m. Sunday, June 7. Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes during this closure. Drivers are urged to reduce speed, be alert for changing conditions, obey all construction signage and avoid distractions such as mobile devices when approaching and traveling through the work zone.

NEW ATHENS – The Illinois Department of Transportation today announced that lane closures will be in place on Illinois 13 at the Kaskaskia River Bridge north of New Athens in St. Clair County beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, June 8, weather permitting. The lane closures are required for navigation lighting repairs on the bridge and will be in place during daytime hours. Flaggers will maintain two-way traffic. The work is expected to last three days. Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes during this closure. Drivers are urged to reduce speed, be alert for changing conditions, obey all construction signage, and refrain from using mobile devices while approaching and traveling through the work zone.

CHICAGO – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that concrete pavement patching to repair the Ontario and Ohio Street ramps to the elevated bridges in Chicago will require a full closure over three weekends alternating between Ontario and Ohio streets. The first closure is scheduled for the weekend of June 12 on Ontario Street.
