Vehicle weight restrictions start Feb. 3 in Whiteside County

DIXON – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that starting Monday Feb. 3, 10-ton vehicle weight restrictions will go into effect on the following roads in Whiteside County:

  • Garden Plain Road: 5 tons per axle (westbound lane only)
  • Freeport Road: 11 tons

Depending upon the weather, the postings will be lifted on or before May 1.

DWIGHT – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that Illinois 17 at the Union Pacific railroad crossing in Dwight will be closed for repairs beginning at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 22. The work is expected to take five days to complete.
