Vehicle weight restrictions start Feb. 3 in Whiteside County

DIXON – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that starting Monday Feb. 3, 10-ton vehicle weight restrictions will go into effect on the following roads in Whiteside County:

  • Garden Plain Road: 5 tons per axle (westbound lane only)
  • Freeport Road: 11 tons

Depending upon the weather, the postings will be lifted on or before May 1.

I-88 construction in Whiteside County resumes May 18
WHITESIDE COUNTY – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that weather permitting, construction will resume on Interstate 88 in Whiteside County on Monday, May 18. The work zone will be from the U.S. 30 interchange (exit 44) in Rock Falls to just west of the U.S. 30 spur interchange (exit 36).
