Westbound U.S. 150 lane closure begins Feb. 3

PEORIA – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that beginning Monday, Feb. 3, the left lane of westbound U.S. 150 will be closed just before the McClugage Bridge.

The lane closure is necessary as demolition of the old eastbound structure takes place. The lane closure is expected to remain in place for two weeks followed by intermittent daytime lane closures, as necessary, until demolition is complete.

Motorists are reminded that the area of the McClugage Bridge is still an active work zone and speed limits will be posted as such.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
