Work on I-39 in Ogle County begins Sept. 28

OGLE COUNTY – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that weather permitting, construction on northbound Interstate 39 in Ogle County will begin Monday, Sept. 28. The work zone is at the Twombly Road just north of the Illinois 38 interchange.

Work will patch the pavement in the left lane. One lane will be closed during the project, which is expected to be completed by the morning of Wednesday, Sept. 30.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area and be prepared for slow and stopped traffic. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices, and be alert for workers and equipment.
