Work on U.S. 52 in Lee County begins May 11
LEE COUNTY – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that weather permitting, work on U.S. 52 in Lee County will begin on Monday, May 11. The 8-mile work zone is from Eldena Road south of Dixon to just south of U.S. 30 and includes the intersections of U.S. 52 and U.S. 30 and U.S. 52 and Inlet Road.
Work will consist of milling and resurfacing the pavement. There will be daytime lane closures controlled by flaggers during the $4.6 million project, which is anticipated to be completed by the end of August.
Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zone areas, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
