Work underway on Illinois 2 viewing area in Oregon
OREGON – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that work is underway at the viewing area along Illinois 2 just north of Oregon. The viewing area allows motorists to stop and park to view the Chief Black Hawk statue located across the Rock River in Lowden State Park.
Work will install mounted binoculars on an ADA accessible island. The scenic viewing area will be closed during construction, which is anticipated to take 10 days to complete.
