Adams Street lane closures set Aug. 27-28

Accommodating overnight work on the McClugage Bridge

PEORIA – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that Adams Street (Illinois 29) between Eureka Street and Lorentz Avenue in Peoria will be reduced to a single lane, with occasional full stops, overnight Aug. 27-28.

The closures are necessary to set beams for the new eastbound McClugage Bridge (U.S. 150) and will take place from 8:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. both nights. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
