Adams Street lane closures set Sept. 10

PEORIA – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that Adams Street (Illinois 29) will be reduced to one lane in each direction at the “Y” intersection with Jefferson Street in Peoria from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 10.

The lane closures are necessary for Komatsu to perform some minor work in the area. Motorists should expect few delays, if any.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
