Belvidere Road over the Des Plaines River bridge maintenance begins July 24

CHICAGO – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that maintenance on the Belvidere Road (Illinois 120) bridge over the Des Plaines River, east of Milwaukee Avenue (Illinois 21), in Gurnee and Warren Township will require intermittent daytime lane closures beginning, weather permitting, Thursday, July 24.

The work is expected to be completed in October.

The public should expect delays and allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
