Carman Road resurfacing begins July 18

LOMAX – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that resurfacing of Carman Road from north of Lomax to U.S. 34 in Henderson County begins July 18.

The project also includes shoulder repairs and guardrail improvements and will reduce Carman Road to one lane, with traffic controlled by flaggers, during the day until October.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
