Cicero Avenue closing at CTA crossing May 26

CHICAGO – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that repairs by the Chicago Transit Authority to the Pink Line crossing on Cicero Avenue (Illinois 50) between Cermak Road (22nd Street) and 21st Street in Chicago will require a full closure starting, weather permitting, 7 a.m. Tuesday, May 26.

A detour will direct the public to Harlem Avenue (Illinois 43) and Roosevelt Road. The work is being overseen by the CTA and is expected to be completed by 3 p.m. Friday, June 19.

The public should expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to detour signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
