Cicero Avenue resurfacing in Midlothian, Oak Forest begins June 27
CHICAGO – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that resurfacing of Cicero Avenue (Illinois 50) from 147th Street (Illinois 83) to 157th Street in Midlothian and Oak Forest begins Friday, June 27.
The work also includes ADA improvements to curbs, gutters and sidewalk ramps and will require daily lane closures, with traffic controlled by flaggers. The $2.1 million project is expected to be complete this fall.
The public can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Alternate routes are encouraged. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
