Closures at Spoon River bridge begin Oct. 28
Temporary delays part of ongoing Illinois 17/91 work
WYOMING – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that there will be periodic closures of 10 to 15 minutes on the Illinois 17/91 bridge over the Spoon River, just west of Wyoming in Stark County, beginning Monday, Oct. 28.
The delays will occur between 7 and 10 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday of next week, as well as on Nov. 4 to allow for the delivery of structural steel beams to the site. Traffic will be controlled by flaggers during the delays.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
