District 4 weed spraying begins Oct. 1

PEORIA – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that weed-spraying operations throughout District 4 begin Oct. 1.

Rolling shoulder operations will take place in Peoria, Tazewell, Woodford, Knox, Warren and McDonough counties. Work is expected to be complete by Nov. 1. If you encounter our workers, please slow down and move over if possible to give them room to work safely.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
