Emergency lane closures on eastbound I-80 in Joliet

CHICAGO – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that the right lane of eastbound Interstate 80 between Wheeler Avenue and Center Street in Joliet is closed for emergency repairs.

The repairs are anticipated to be completed and the lane reopened by approximately 5 a.m. Wednesday, April 2.

The public can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
