Illinois 127 in Raymond to close Jan. 28-29 for railroad repairs

SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced the closure of Illinois 127 on Tuesday, Jan. 28, and Wednesday, Jan. 29, for repairs to the railroad overpass. ​

The Norfolk Southern Railroad will coordinate the repairs. A detour utilizing Illinois 48, Illinois 16 and Interstate 55 will be posted.

Motorists are encouraged to follow the posted detour or find an alternate route. In addition, motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
