Illinois 18 in Henry to close Sept. 9
HENRY – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that Illinois 18 between Railroad Avenue and Commercial Street in Henry will close Sept. 9.
The closure is necessary for the Iowa Interstate Railroad to make repairs to its crossing and is expected to last four days. Detours will be posted as follows:
- Westbound Illinois 18 will utilize Illinois 26, Illinois 17 and Illinois 29.
- Eastbound Illinois 18 will use Illinois 29, Interstate 180 and Illinois 26.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
