Illinois 26 from Spring Bay to Illinois 116 lane closures start Sept. 21

SPRING BAY – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced lane closures on about seven miles of Illinois 26 in Spring Bay from Illinois 116 in Germantown Hills begins Sept. 21.

The daytime lane closures are necessary for a $1.8 million milling and resurfacing project. Work is expected to be completed by mid-November.

Detours will be posted and motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes or allow for additional travel time. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
