Illinois 26 work in Ogle County begins Aug. 11
FORRESTON – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that weather permitting, construction on Illinois 26 in Ogle County begins Aug. 11. The work zone is from the southern city limits of Forreston to the Illinois 72 west junction northwest of Forreston.
The $4.3 million project involves pavement repairs and improvements to ADA pedestrian facilities and will require daily lane closures, with traffic controlled by flaggers. The next phase of the project involves resurfacing Illinois 26, which will begin in 2026. All work is expected to complete by early June 2026.
Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zone areas, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
