Illinois 94 bridge work begins May 27
HENDERSON COUNTY – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that construction on the Illinois 94 bridge over Henderson Creek, about 3 miles west of Little York in Henderson County, begins May 27.
The project involves joint replacement, pavement patching and other safety updates and will reduce the bridge to one lane, with traffic controlled by temporary signals, until October.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
