Lane closure on U.S. 136 overpass in Havana set April 14

HAVANA - The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that the Scott Lucas Memorial Bridge will be reduced to one lane at the overpass carrying U.S. 136 over the Illinois River in Havana on April 14.

The bridge will close one lane with flaggers and traffic will alternate going across the bridge. The closure is necessary for bridge washing and will take place from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., and is expected to last one day.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
