Lane closures of Illinois 1 in Danville begin June 10

DANVILLE – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that the northbound lanes of Gilbert Street (Illinois 1/U.S. 150) over the Vermilion River in Danville will close June 10.

The lane closures are necessary for maintenance of the Memorial Bridge and will take place from Bluff Street to Main Street through June 14, weather permitting.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
