7/17/25 UPDATE: Due to inclement weather, this weekend’s closures on eastbound Interstate 64 between 15th and 25th Street in St. Clair County have been postponed. The work has been rescheduled, weather permitting, for the weekend of July 25–28.

Lane closures on I-64 in St. Clair County begin July 18

EAST ST. LOUIS – The Illinois Department of Transportation today announced that lane closures on eastbound Interstate 64 between 15^th and 25^th Street in St. Clair County will begin, weather permitting, at 9 p.m. Friday, July 18, for bridge deck patching. Traffic will be reduced to one lane.

All lanes will be open to traffic at 6 a.m. Monday, July 21.

Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes during this closure. Drivers are urged to reduce speed, be alert for changing conditions, obey all construction signage, and refrain from using mobile devices while approaching and traveling through the work zone.
