McClugage Bridge’s westbound left lane to close July 8

The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that as part of ongoing work at the McClugage Bridge, the left lane of westbound U.S. 150 between Illinois 116 in East Peoria and Adams Street (Illinois 29) in Peoria will close July 8.

The lane closure is necessary for median work, which is expected to be complete by Sept. 1.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
