New Lincoln Prairie Trail bridge reconnects Taylorville and Pana ​ ​

TAYLORVILLE– The Illinois Department of Transportation will be joined by the communities of Pana and Taylorville to celebrate the opening of a new Lincoln Prairie Trail bridge. The project reconnects the two cities via the trail and sets the stage for future improvements by removing and replacing the old bridge carrying the trail over Flat Branch, which closed 10 years ago because of its poor condition.

WHAT: Ribbon-cutting ceremony for new Lincoln Prairie Trail bridge in Taylorville

WHEN: Tuesday, May 27 at 11:30 a.m.

WHERE: Lincoln Prairie Trail bridge over Flat Branch, a tributary of the South Fork Sangamon River in Taylorville. The bridge is approximately a mile southeast of Illinois 29 and Main Cross Street. ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​

*Media should park at the location listed on the two attached maps. Golf carts will shuttle media to and from the new bridge. Please arrive 20-30 minutes before the press event.
