Northbound I-55 temporary lane closure in Channahon

CHICAGO – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that the right lane on the northbound Interstate 55 bridge over the Des Plaines River, in Channahon, is scheduled to close for pavement repairs starting at, weather permitting, 10 a.m. today, Monday, Dec. 9.

The necessary repairs are anticipated to be completed and the lane reopened by the evening rush today.

The public can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
