Overnight traffic stops on eastbound U.S. 150
EAST PEORIA – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that beginning at 10 p.m. Dec.12, eastbound U.S. 150 traffic will be stopped on the east side of the McClugage Bridge for up to 20 minutes at a time.
The stoppages are necessary as the new sign truss over U.S. 150 is set. The work is anticipated to be complete by 6 a.m. Dec.13.
Additionally, the westbound left lane of U.S. 150 will be closed on the East Peoria side of the river on Dec. 10-11. The Closure will be daytime only after 8:30 am. The westbound lane closure is for guardrail work.
For the most current traffic pattern changes and other impacts, IDOT has launched a project website. In addition, site visitors can subscribe to receive construction updates and traffic alerts throughout project construction.
The eastbound McClugage Bridge is being replaced after more than 70 years of serving the Peoria metro area. Scheduled for completion in 2024, the new structure will deliver improved capacity and safety, reduced travel times and bicycle and pedestrian accommodations.
