Public comment sought on I-57 access study in Will County

CHICAGO – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that a public meeting will be held Tuesday, Aug. 26, on a preliminary engineering and environmental study to improve Interstate 57 from south of Wilmington-Peotone Road to north of Manhattan-Monee Road in Will County. ​

The purpose of the meeting is to provide a study update, present the purpose and need and obtain public input. The I-57 Access Study aims to propose access improvements to I-57 to meet future traffic needs and improve local and regional connectivity.

The public meeting will be in an open-house format. All interested parties are encouraged to attend:

Exhibits will be on display and an audio-visual presentation will be shown continuously during the meeting. Project team members will be present to discuss the project and answer questions.
