Public meeting June 24 on improvements to Illinois 173 at 21st Street/Gilead Avenue
ZION – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that a public meeting will be held Tuesday, June 24, on a preliminary engineering and environmental study to improve Illinois 173 at 21st Street/Gilead Avenue in the village of Zion in Lake County.
The purpose of the meeting is to provide an overview of the study process, introduce the proposed improvement alternatives and obtain public input. The study will evaluate pedestrian and bicycle facilities at the intersection, finding solutions to reduce the potential for future crashes while improving safety overall.
The public meeting will be in an open-house format. All interested parties are encouraged to attend:

Exhibits will be on display and an audio-visual presentation will be shown continuously during the meeting. Project team members will be present to answer questions.
