Ramp work at U.S. 150, Illinois 29 begins Sept. 24
PEORIA – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that construction on the westbound U.S. 150 (War Memorial Drive) ramps to and from Illinois 29 (Adams Street) in Peoria begins Sept. 24.
The project involves installing a barrier wall to build a temporary ramp in preparation of a rehabilitation of the westbound McClugage Bridge. This work is expected to last a couple of days, with traffic controlled by flaggers, but motorists should expect trucks entering and exiting the work zone as the temporary ramp is constructed. That work is expected to last into early November.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
