Temporary closure on Old Illinois 13 in Williamson County

WILLIAMSON COUNTY – The Illinois Department of Transportation today announced that a short segment of Old Illinois 13 just east of the Illinois 148 intersection will be closed to all traffic starting at 7 p.m. Friday, July 18.

The closure, which is expected to last until 1 p.m. Saturday, July 19, is necessary to replace a large drainage structure located beneath the roadway. Access to residences within the closure area will remain open.

Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes during this closure. Drivers are urged to reduce speed, be alert for changing conditions, obey all construction signage, and refrain from using mobile devices while approaching and traveling through the work zone.
